September 14, 2021
Happy Tuesday! As many of you know the Bishop has asked us to focus on the Eucharist during the month of September. This weekend started a three part series of recorded Homilies to be played at every Mass. I sent the recording yesterday for you in case you missed the first one. I found this weeks homily particularly intriguing. The Priest shared that a large number of Catholics do not know that the Eucharist is the real presence of Jesus.
I have been working with the students over the last few weeks to remind them how to receive communion. One of the parts of receiving communion is responding AMEN when the Eucharistic Minister says “This is the Body of Christ” or respectively “This is the Blood of Christ.” AMEN means I believe. When we respond AMEN we are saying that we believe that what we are receiving is the Real Presence of Jesus.

I am looking forward to the next two weeks homilies. I hope that you are able to attend Mass with your children and hear them as well.

Catechetical Sunday This Sunday, September 19th is Catechetical Sunday. This is the time we recognize all those who teach the Catholic Faith. The teachers will be receiving a special blessing at the 11am Mass. I hope to see you there!
