November 30, 2021

Season of Advent Sunday was the First Sunday of Advent. We lit the Hope candle (purple). This candle reminds us that Jesus is our Hope. That we are called to rely fully on Him and place our trust in Him. The 8th graders chose the verse, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me for their sweatshirts. This verse calls us to remember that when we are placed in a time of challenge that God will be there to see us through. One of my favorite verses is Where God guides He provides. Isaiah 58:11. Remember that God will not give you more than you can handle because you are not handling it on your own!
Advent Spirit Day Tomorrow! Please see attached flier for more details.
Friends of the Poor Walk WOW!! The goal of $25 per student was exceeded with $5,592.36 in donations and even more trickling in. Students also donated over 500 pounds of food!
The actual walk was following Mass on a beautiful, slightly cool, but very sunny day. There was much joy seeing our young children walking together! Many thanks to Neal and Claudia Hicks for their printing contribution of the Walk a Mile t-shirts!
The food and money donations will go a long way to help local families in need through this holiday season and well into the new year. For those of us who meet face to face with our neighbors in need, we THANK YOU for your support in helping the children to be a part of this effort!!
