From our humble beginnings with classes being conducted in the church and rectory, SSA has grown to several dedicated buildings on the Santa Sophia Parish campus. In addition to academic excellence, we offer music, sports, drama and many other after-school programs.
The Academy is currently staffed by dedicated lay educators under the leadership of Principal, Kristin Klant.
Mission Statement
Santa Sophia Academy, a Catholic elementary school, in union with parents and guardians as the primary educators of our students, is a community of faith, bearing witness to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to teaching our students, within our Catholic faith tradition, to participate responsibly in family, parish, civic, and global communities while achieving academic excellence.
Philosophy
Santa Sophia Academy, a Catholic elementary school, believes our primary commitment focuses on the cultivation of a faith filled relationship with Christ in all aspects of school life. Our commitment is to our students, and extends to families, parish, and civic community. Education is a lifelong process in which our students are instructed in a comprehensive curriculum in a Catholic tradition of faith. The administration, faculty and staff, as facilitators, in a dynamic relationship with parents and guardians as primary educators, strive to provide students with opportunities to reach their full potential spiritually, academically, socially, physically, emotionally, and aesthetically. Santa Sophia Academy cultivates a Christ centered community in which students recognize, appreciate, and embrace the dignity and diversity of all cultures. Rooted in the Gospel mission of Jesus Christ, students are challenged to set their sights on heaven by living responsibly with compassion, service, and respect for themselves and the global community.
