Fall Sports Fall Sports are back! The fall sports are Varsity and JV Flag Football and Girls Softball. These sports are for those students in grades 5-8. All registrations are due by Thursday, September 9th. We will not accept late registrations.
Parents, players and coaches must agree to abide by both the sports and regular philosophy of the school and the league we play in when it comes to participating in this sports program. We do believe that at this age level, students should be learning the sport and necessary skills involved to play. They should be able to have fun and winning is not the main objective. We believe that all players should get to play at every game/match if they have been at every practice and exhibit positive and Christian sportsmanlike conduct.
Sports COVID protocols Parents are not allowed at practices (except coaches). Parents may attend the games. All volunteers must show proof of vaccination OR provide proof of negative tests once a week.
Grade checks are run at least twice a quarter to make sure-that the student is not failing in any academic area and occasionally students are asked to focus on the academics rather than the sport. (The student will then be “off” the team. Letters are sent home in this case.) We also expect parents to be a positive support for the players and coaches and expect positive sportsmanlike conduct—on the practice and playing fields from them, as well.
We expect commitment from the students in the form of being present for every practice and game. Students should not arbitrarily pick and choose what they feel like going to. By signing up for a team they need to be committed and we expect them to commit to the whole season. A social event should not preclude a game or practice.
Our coaches are made up of parent volunteers and practice schedules will vary. Please call the school at (619) 463-0488 if you have any questions about changes in practice or game schedules.
