I am Miss Chloe Richards. I have the privilege of teaching first grade here at Santa Sophia Academy!
My hometown is Corona, California, about 100 miles north of here. I attended St. Edward Catholic School and Notre Dame High School in my youth. Growing up in a faith-filled learning community provided me with a strong foundation of faith, knowledge, and community bonds that continues to support me throughout my adult life.
I attended San Diego State University and eventually transferred to the University of Hawaii at Hilo where I earned a B.A. in Marine Science. In the years that followed, I spent my time traveling, conducting shark research, working in ecotourism, and taking additional courses in science at Paloma’s College. During this time I became inspired by not only the content I was learning but also by the dynamic and imaginative ways my professors taught us. It was then I realized my calling was not merely to be an advocate of marine conversation but of lifelong learning. Invigorated to teach and inspire young minds, I attended the Point Loma Nazarene University credential program where I earned my Multiple Subject credential.
I am delighted to be an educator at Santa Sophia Academy where I have the pleasure of guiding children through both their faith and scholastic journeys. It is an honor to help children discover their unique strengths and passions, and to witness firsthand the growth of their hearts and minds.
